The Challenge

QPE was acquired by TestWorks and was planning to move the TestWorks Scotland SMT operations into QPE’s state of the art facilities in Glenrothes. QPE required a principal to manage the planning and move of the high value machinery and equipment and skilled people from Dunfermline to Glenrothes.

The Solution

GO LEAN's GO Serve™ division project managed the equipment strip down and move, ensuring safe and efficient collaboration of stakeholders. Safety moments before commencing, made the team and stakeholders aware of the risks and the methods for the material handling and lifting operations. Before the move GO LEAN simulated the factory to optimise throughput, this was applied to the new layout.

 

The Results

  • The equipment safely arrived at the QPE Glenrothes SMT Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. GO LEAN managed the installation and commissioning of the machines and NPI line with the machines operational within two days.
