Mobile Robot

Developing a 160mm high mobile robot with

5-15t capacity on 5 degree inclines, IP65 and

316 stainless steel body.

Project Overview

1

The Industry

A multibillion revenue global leader in the manufacture of components and solutions supporting life science and biopharma

2

Core Technology

Material handling of stainless steel products with a lower than 170mm point of entry. Load capacity at 5 degree slopes. The off the shelf solutions in the marketplace offered by major companies did not meet the user requirements.

3

Key Metrics & Objectives

Safer, more efficient process

Increase revenue and competitiveness

316 stainless steel IP65 ingress protection

Remote controlled automated mover, handling 5-degree slopes, up to 15,000kg SWL

One size fits many solution for varying frame pickup points

Increase the throughput by speeding up transfer times

Lowest skates and AMRs in their weight classes

The Challenge

The business needed a partner to develop and manufacture a complex automation solution, prove and develop the design, deliver a turnkey solution, commission and maintain the assets to ensure uptime.

The Solution

Remote controlled skates and AMRs that are ultra low profile and highly manoeuvrable to fit underneath frames, trolleys, machines or components and pick them up with extendable arms, giving the flexibility to move multiple components around safely, either via remote controls or autonomously.

The Results

  • The solution is capable of lifting and moving complex and heavy loads, efficiently
  •  Optional sideway traverse and omnidirectional movement
  • Remote controlled and autonomous control
  • Full fleet management, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance
  • IP65-66 ingress protection for wash downs and outdoor conditions
  • Virtual twin and physics simulation environment to test applications
